MARSHA RAKER

     Mrs. Marsha Raker is a 1980 graduate of George Washington High School.  She recieved her B.A. in Music Education from WV State College in 1984.   Mrs. Raker started her teaching career at Wharton Middle School in 1984 before coming to Madison Middle School as Chorus and General Music teacher in 1984.   After a successful stay at Madison Middle School where she built the award winning Show Choir Mrs. Raker moved to Brookview Elementary in 1998 teaching general music.  In 2007 Mrs. Raker decided to come back to Madison Middle School and rebuild the strong choral program that she once had at MMS.  In just a few short years the choral program has taken leaps forward reaching this success.  Mrs. Raker also noted a lag in vocal music at Scott High School which is fed by MMS and started working building a vocal program there.   In just a couple short years she has succeeded in producing an active vocal ensemble that just keeps building in numbers and in talent.

     Mrs. Raker resides in Alumn Creek with her husband, Tom.  They have two children, Brandon who is a striving film maker and a daughter Chalcie who attends Kentucky University.  Mrs. Raker holds the church choir position at Oakwood Baptist Church where she directs various music groups.
