Mrs. Christy Blankenship earned a B.A. degree in Language Arts 5-12 and Social Studies 5-8 from Marshall University in 1995. While at Marshall,she received the Marshall Presidential Scholarship and the Underwood Smith Teaching Scholarship from West Virginia Department of Education. She served as president of Sigma Tau Delta, Marshall's English Honorary, and was the first education major at Marshall to receive the Maier Writing Award. Mrs. Blankenship began her teaching career in Boone County in 1996, taught Language Arts at Logan Middle School in 1997, and came to Madison Middle School in 1998.
      Mrs. Blankenship loves teaching 7th graders at Madison Middle School where she serves as English Department Chairperson, Spelling Bee Coordinator, and Writing Assessment Coordinator. She is devoted to motivating her students to read good books and encouraging them to attend college. She hopes to prepare all of her students for future success. You will find Mrs. Blankenship and her husband cheering on the county spelling bee participants each year at the Boone County Spelling Bee.
      Mrs. Blankenship's greatest joy is being a mother. At home, she loves to care for her son and her husband, who is also a teacher at Madison Middle School. Her personal interests include painting, playing piano and guitar, and as you might expect, reading.
