Michael (A.B.) Brown


      Mr. Michael "A.B." Brown is a graduate of Alice Lloyd College where he received a BS in Math and Physical Science 5-12.  He later received a Masters in Special Education with LD, BD and MI certifications before receiving a Masters in Administration from Salem University.  

     2012 marks Mr. Brown's 17th year in education.  He was a substitute for 1 1/2 years, a teacher at MMS and Scott High for 7 years.  He has also served as Lead Teacher at DRK juvenile center for 2 1/2 years, 4 years at MMS and served as Assistant Principal at Madison Elementary in 2011-12.  2012-2013 will mark his first year at Assistant principal at MMS.

     As of 2012 Mr. Brown has coached in the county for 17 years which included 10 years baseball at SHS, 12 years of football at MMS, girls softball 4 years, Freshman Basketball at SHS, Baseball at MMS and grade school basketball.  Currently he is the head baseball coach and assistant football coach at MMS.

     Mr. Brown states that he is extremely excited about the opportunity to be the assistant principal at MMS.  he feels that his background as teacher at Madison Middle will allow him to interact well with the staff and help understand the needs of our students.  He has been involved with the community for many years and he is fimiliar with most of our current students and their parents.  He states that the leadership at MMS will work very hard together and that he is confident that the staff will continue to grow and provide our students with a great learning environment.  Through hard work and increased parental involvement, we can make MMS a great school for our community.

     Mr. Brown is married to Rhonda Brown who is a teacher at Brookview Elementary and they have a daughter, Ally and son, Peyton.  His hobbies include fishing, coaching and spending time with family.
