Jennifer Abbott

     Jennifer Abbott was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia and graduated from Charleston High School in 1986. She went on to West Virginia University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with an emphasis on Advertising. She later earned her Master of Science degree from WVU in Integrated Marketing Communications.
     Now a resident of Boone County, Mrs. Abbott moved to Madison in 2001 and married her husband John. She is the step-mom to two children: John Paul, 19, and Sarah, 17. She also has a furry four-legged kid, Josie, a black Labrador Retriever.
     Mrs. Abbott teaches English Language Arts at Madison Middle School starting in 2011. During the 2010 school year,  she taught Reading at Van Middle School. There, she won third place in CEDAR of Southern West Virginia with her coal study unit titled, Coal Camps: Then and Now.
     She has many interests and hobbies. She loves attending WVU Mountaineer football and basketball games and is an avid fan of the Mountaineers! She also enjoys traveling, the beach, cooking, reading and gardening.
     One motto she lives by, “Everyday is a good day. Some days are better than others!”
